Personalized Guitar Straps - Script Series
Some of the more time consuming but very original looking are our script series personalized guitar straps. After the undyed tooling leather is cut from the hide, it is dampened with water. Lettering is then hand drawn onto the leather for a reference from your choice of several different font styes. Then the intense hand work begins by stamping with a tiny textured hand tool and a mallet all around the outline of the lettering. This requires hundreds and hundreds of taps with our rawhide mallet. It appears that letters are raised but it is actually the background around the lettering that is debossed.
If you want the personalized lettering to stand out against the strap color, we take professional leather dye and an artist's brush to carefully dye around the perimeter of each letter being careful not to get any on the monogram. The rest of the leather guitar strap is then dyed, conditioned with oils and polished.
Each custom guitar strap is made to your order specifications. Other ways of customizing the strap include scripted crosses for Christian guitar strap themes, music notes embossed and or decorative metal conchos attached. The custom leather guitar straps can be made to several longer lengths than the most popular standard length that adjusts up to 52 inches.
The underneath side of the custom guitar strap can be the natural unded color or we can give it that extra cadilac look with a soft garment leather lining. For those musicians that require padding to make it a bit more comfortable when playing at long gigs can request for to add a foam rubber padding under the soft lining. Western music musicians might prefer a sheepskin padding in the shoulder area of their personalized guitar straps.
